Setting goals should not be a tedious process
Party season is now coming to a close, have you thought about your plans for this New Year? No matter what time of year it is, setting goals need not be a tedious process, but should be an inspiring motivational tool to get your mindset correct for the next couple of months.
It’s best to start backward, I know this may sound strange, but by working backwards we can start to get excited about the end result and problem solve to get there. Rather than having non-focused goals getting us nowhere.
Start setting goals by working through these series of questions;
– If you could have anything in the world what would it be?
– In your wildest dreams what would you like to achieve?
Write down the steps you need to do to get there:
– Do you need to study more?
– Work on people skills?
– Enlist help from professionals?
– How much time do I need?
After deciphering what exactly it is you want out of life, and the steps you need to do to get there, taking action seems more manageable. You will only ever achieve as much as you dream, but remember dreams without actions are also fruitless. Without a list of manageable actions you need to take, the overall goal can be debilitating and a cause for procrastination.
Achieving goals takes a certain degree of planning, managing your time and perseverance. I’m counting on you to be the best person you can be!
